Emergency Housing Funds

The Dean of Students provides limited financial support to current students who face unexpected, unforeseen, and unavoidable emergency expenses related to housing.

Details

Currently enrolled students may apply for funds when they have exhausted all other financial resources such as student loans, personal resources, and payment plans. This funding is not intended to reimburse expenses that have already been paid or to replace or supplement existing financial aid. If emergency funds are granted, they do not have to be repaid.

What These Funds Can Help With

  • Emergency or temporary housing needs
  • Security deposits or unexpected housing relocation costs
  • Essential utilities at risk of disconnection
  • Essential personal belongings lost in theft, accident, or disaster
  • Other housing-related emergencies preventing academic progress

What These Funds Do Not Cover

  • Tuition or fees
  • Credit card debt, parking tickets, or fines
  • Non-essential items (entertainment, travel, etc.)
  • Ongoing rent or long-term financial support
  • Expenses already reimbursed or covered by other aid

Eligibility

  • Immediate financial hardship due to an emergency, accident, or other unexpected critical incident.
  • Expense is unexpected, unforeseen, and urgent in nature.
  • Applicant is currently enrolled in Services for Undocumented Students.
  • All other resources, including student loans through Financial Aid, have been considered and are insufficient, unavailable, or not available in time.

Submit the emergency funding application on the Dean of Students website . Complete all questions and upload supporting documentation.
