Description
We provide the The Knowledge Empowers You (KEY) Program for all new incoming undocumented students and their families. This 2-day program is intended to assist students and their families through the transition to UC Merced. In addition, the program also provides an introduction to the programs and services that we provide to undocumented students during their time at UC Merced. Approximately 15 incoming freshmen participate in this program. This program is completely FREE. The room and meal expenses for students and their families during this 2-day program is covered by us.
Each year the KEY program addresses topics specific to undocumented scholars and their families such as:
- Understanding Your Financial Aid
- Know Your Rights
- Life after College as An Undocumented Scholar
- Campus Involvement
- Campus Resources
- Research Opportunities for Undocumented Scholars, etc.
- Legal Services
