
Immigrant R.O.O.T.S
This student-led organization on campus is for immigrant, first-generation, undocumented, queer students, and their allies at UC Merced!
They are a chapter of United We Dream, the largest youth-led immigrant non-profit in the country. Their mission is to create safe and welcoming spaces, advocate for social justice, and empower our campus's diverse immigrant community. Their objective is to build community power, share essential resources, and foster leadership and solidarity. They hold spaces for students to connect and grow, while also providing opportunities for professional and personal development. They strive to empower youth to be at the forefront of the immigrant rights movement! Some initiatives they implement include workshops dedicated to topics such as social justice, immigrants' rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, community organizing, and self-care.

Counseling and Psychological Services
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) supports the mental health and well-being of our students. It is the intention of all CAPS staff to provide a safe, confidential atmosphere of acceptance and accessibility to professionals in the field of psychology. CAPS clinical staff include licensed psychologists, therapists, clinical social workers, interns, and trainees. Their services include Long-term individual counseling, Short-Term individual counseling, Group counseling, Call-In Services, and Consultations. All of these services are FREE to all students. CAPS are located in the Student Health and Athletics Building, 2nd Floor.

Guardian Scholars Program
This program is under the Calvin E. Bright Success Center. The Guardian Scholars Program (GSP) supports youth that have experienced the foster care system and/or homelessness. Their mission is to provide scholars with a sustainable network of academic and personal support services that promote degree attainment. They strive to create a welcoming and inclusive space through workshops, services, and socials. They help scholars secure housing, buy textbooks, obtain priority class registration, and so much more!

Success Mentor Program
This program is under the Calvin E. Bright Success Center. The Success Mentor Program (SMP) empowers undergraduate students academically and socially at UC Merced through one-on-one mentoring with upper-division students and community-based initiatives. Their SMP Peer Mentors support and empower students to develop strategies and skills that will enhance academic, intrapersonal and interpersonal development, and a sense of Bobcat pride. Through one-on-one mentoring, social events, skill-building activities and workshops, and other opportunities that contribute to the first-year experience, the Success Mentor Program is committed to the aspirations and success of mentees and mentors in the program.

Transfer, Returning, and Veteran Program
This program is under the Calvin E. Bright Success Center. Transfer, Returning and Veterans (TRV) Student Services is a supportive community for transfer, reinstated and veteran students. They understand and value the unique experiences and perspectives non-traditional students bring to our vibrant campus community. The purpose of TRV is to celebrate the diversity of our students and to assist in the discovery of services available to UC Merced students. They accomplish their purpose by offering individual, academic, and community support as well as advocacy, research awareness, resources referrals and career exploration. They have a study space with free snacks and printing services.

Bobcat Underground Scholars
This program is under the Calvin E. Bright Success Center. The Bobcat Undergound Scholars Program (BUS) provides support, services, and leadership for formerly incarcerated and system impacted scholars. This includes those who have been indirectly impacted by the incarceration of a loved one. They offer 1-one-on-one mentorship, housing, textbook assistance, and so much more!

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center (UROC)
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Center (UROC) encourages and supports first-generation and underrepresented students to get involved in undergraduate research! They offer many programs which most are open for undocumented students. Students can conduct research during the summer or throughout the academic year. They sponsor several Research and Academic Internship Programs. Each program is aimed to help guide the student toward their academic and career goals by providing relevant training and leadership development opportunities.

Margo F. Souza Student Leadership Center
The Souza Leadership Center is a unit within The Office of Leadership, Service and Career. They aspire to develop students' leadership skills, knowledge, capacity, and self-efficacy while also empowering students to thrive as life-long learners and leaders in the 21st century.
