Undocumented Student Coordinator Message

It is with mixed emotions, both excitement and bittersweet, that my last day as the Undocumented Student Coordinator at UC Merced will be Oct. 7th. I will be starting a new position, Undocumented Student Services Coordinator at UC Santa Barbara.

For those who do not know I have held this role for the past two years. If I had to chance to meet with you, get to know you, support you in anyway, know that these past two years have been amazing! You all made my job very rewarding and life changing. It has been a pleasure to know you and support you in anyway I could.

Next steps
Things will continue to run as regular as it can be, this means the following:
  • If you have any questions related to any of our services, legal services, scholarships, advance parole, etc. please contact Alex Delgadillo, adelgadillo@ucmerced.edu, (209) 626-9078. His office is located in KL 222.
  • This semester, we have 3 student coordinators. They will be holding office hours where students who have students and/or seek peer support will be able to meet with them. We will let you know of those office hours next week.
  • If you need to meet with me, come by this or next week
  • As previously mentioned, if you have any questions related to UC Merced resources please e-mail Alex Delgadillo but if you would like to keep in touch, my e-mail is valdivia.diana@gmail.com
  • In the upcoming weeks, the Director of the Bright Success Center, Leilani Kupo, will be leading the search for a new coordinator.
The Bright Success Center will be hosting a farewell gathering on Oct. 7th at 2:00pm at KL 222, in case if you would like to stop by and say “see you later!"

Thank you,

Diana Valdivia
